Hello, I am new to dragon keeping. I have an 8 to 9-inch bearded dragon I've had him for probably three months now. He just now had his first really big shed and I was planning on cleaning out his cage because it's full of shed and calcium dust. I got him out and put him on my shoulder because I'm home alone my wife works the day shift during the week I work the night shift during the weekend. He seemed fine on my shoulder was just kind of exploring around my hoodie then he came down to my arm which was about chest height, then he leapt off my arm onto the floor. My floor is carpet and he landed flat on his belly immediately started rushing around the room. I scooped him up and was trying to hold him to see if I could notice anything wrong he dropped again from about waist high. This time he sort of tumbled I picked him up and put him back in his Viv immediately. He went to hide in his little shrubbery and hide. He wouldn't come out until I moved him. At first, his beard and belly were very dark now that he is sitting in his basking light his beard and belly are almost completely white and he is looking at me but he's still flat on his belly in his hammock. Are there any suggestions from anyone as to what I need to look for right now and in the future before I take him straight to the vet and spend lots of money?
Update I got him to walk around his hammock for a few seconds he's supporting himself with his back legs now. I don't notice any swelling around his spine or hips or any weird bulges on his belly.
