falcor & tolkien's fun fotos thread *new pics pg 14*

so, falcor is my first beardie. she has been doing this spring fever thing for close to a month now...driving me nuts! she eats barely anything and just wants to stare out the window and run around the house and try to climb walls!!! she eats next to nothing, only the occasional roach (1-3 per week!) absolutely wont go near her veggies (she used to LOVE her salads??!!!) and only eats baby food mixed with critical care!!!! last month she weighed in at 470 grams, now she's down to 461...hopefully she doesn't drop much more weight. i've tried everything, superworms, hornworms, waxworms, butterworms, silkworms, NUTTIN! she looks at me like im crazy...which i possibly am!!!!! so, in my insanity, i made a comic strip to make myself feel better. plus, i'ver heard & seen people here like comic strips!!! so here ya go!

I had fun making that!!!

but, seriously, that is ALL she does....stares and stares hours upon hours out the window...!!!!! LOL

i will return with more comics!

do they ever return to their normal selves? or is it endless craziness here on out?

ohhhh....i'm sooo jealous!my last beardie died cause i listened to really bad advice from a breeder and i'm trying to get a new one...i'm amazed at how much personality so many peoples beardies seem to have...i wanna get my own personality beardie to take care of and love and talk aaboouut!!Falcor is soo pretty though...she's a nice yellow...although the yellow ones are still kinda odd looking to me,but any beardie is adorable!i love the pictures and captions...so funny^-^

awww, what kind of advice did that breeder give you? would really like to know... thats horrible!!

you'll find your beardie pal, or....the beardie will pick you, is more like it! that's why i like these critters, you totally have to earn their trust and love, and that totally makes it worthwhile. it took a few months before falcor trusted and warmed up to me, and i wouldnt change that all!!

please tell us about your beardie and what happened, or do you have a thread about it already some place?

Although they aren't too common, I've met a couple of breeders who have no idea what they are doing... usually ends up with bad results.
I wholly agree with the winning their trust and love, my beardie now will let me do just about anything with her, but it took a while to get that much trust.

And I agree about the whole "state bird"... I also live in the midwest and have seen some very giant mosquitoes. We joke about the number it would take of them to carry off a human. Hoping our winter is not as bad as the rains have been this year, if the whole 1" of rain to 11" of snow pans out, we'll end up getting somewhere between 360" and 440" of snow this year :shock:

the breeder was a girl maybe around my age,in my home town with four beardies of her own.she told me the whole bit about leafy greens,veggies and that,and her lil babies had that.but she told me to feed the baby only one or two crickets once a week.in the end,i was only feeding the poor thing maybe three crix three times a week and only iceberg lettuce every day...T_T...and she used crushed walnut shell substrate and told me the exact same thing pet store associates would,that it's "organic" and "totally edible and safe"..*cries a bit*she didn't say anything about watering the lil one,and she also told me to use the coil bulb for light,not the strip which i've been told is infinitely better.and she wasn't much help towards the end...i've tried to contact her to buy another beardie,cause they are healthy atleast and they are cheap...but she won't return my calls and it's already been a week-_-LOUSY business!and she KNEW the beardie had died and that i may be intrested in getting another!

wow... i don't think she could have told you any MORE bad advice...holy cow....thats just sad that she even breeds bearded dragons...normally i try not to judge but yipes...scarey scarey scarey...

there are some really good breeders here you could get a beardie from though and they know what they're doing!!

yeah, the mosquitoes are monster-size here, and they dont care at all where they bite you, extremely rude!!!! ugh....snow outlook not looking very good for this winter...i hope the pro's are wrong on that one!!!

yeah...but now i've got the experianced helpful people here to tell me what i need to do!^-^ and you were right,the beardie...kinda found me!i'm adopting a year old pastel girl from Cheryl of Rio Reptiles...gonna pick her up saturday!so excited,i've already picked out a name for my new little girl,which is Gypsy!..already got a thread set up for her too^-^But when will you post more pictures of Falcor?i'm wondering what that little one of yours has been up to!and you know,about the mosquitos....you could probably sic Falcor on em^-^there's a video on youtube of a beardie gobbling up a wolf spider.

i have some new pics here, just falcor being herself, sunning in her favorite spot in the living room. she's such a pretty dragon!

here's a cute one, after she was done sunning, i picked her up and she crawled into my jacket, she's such a snuggle-bug!

best friends! loki and falcor really get along well together. i think loki likes her because she doesnt pick on him like the other two kitties do, falcor truly trusts him over the other guys, i have never seen her puff up at loki, but she has puffed at onyx & chibi!!!

falcor even shares her blankie with loki! loki loves cuddling!

ohh,i love Falcor's blanket,it's so cheerful and happy!^-^i'm thinking of getting Gypsy a nice blanket for christmas...hopefully by then she'll have her new enclosure!it's gonna be the colors i think she likes...red,orange and yellow.and i'm thinking of getting little fleur de lis on it...^-^something that'll go nicely with her name. I was kinda startled when i saw your kitty almost laying ontop of Falcor,i would of been freaking out and watching them worst than a hawk!..i'm paranoid about my baby's safety.

thanks guys! i just wanted to say, do NOT attempt to have your beardie out with just ANY cats (or dogs) unsupervised!!!

my cats are trained really well, YES cats ARE trainable, sometimes MORE-SO than dogs!! they know the minute i raise my voice i mean business. and when falcor is out i am sitting on the floor with her and the cats.

just wanted to make that clear with everyone here that i'm not just some careless crazed person letting my bearded dragon out with cats lol !!!!!

i would feel absolutely horrible if something happened to someone's beardie because of my photos

please take caution, always!!!
