Flashback roughly two and a half years ago. There I am 16 years old and I am dying to get a bearded dragon. I have spent the past month staring at a computer screen just to watch bearded dragon feeding videos. I did very little true research and therefore rushed into buying the beardie before gathering the essentials. I could go on and on with this story but I'm sure we know how it ends... Fast forward to September 15, 2013, two days after my birthday, I have been without a beardie for about a year and have done 2 months of research. I didn't go a single day without trying to memorize everything I need to know and have before I start this adventure all over. As I approach the bearded dragons one of them runs to the front of all of them to get a good look at me. At that very moment I knew that was the little guy I wanted.....I was wrong. When the lady let me handle him he scurried back to her hand and wouldn't let me touch him. Then, as she was setting the "untouchable one" back in the enclosure, out of nowhere a little girl that had been pretty reclusive crawled onto the lady's hand. This one was the one. It climbed off her hand into mine and immediately flattened out to absorb the heat my nervous palm was expelling. I had just about everything left over from my last beardie so all I needed was a UVB bulb and a new heat lamp. It's been 2 days now and I've cleaned poop a total of 4 times! This should be great. OH YEAH!! The little one doesn't have a name....

The day after we got her, I noticed that she was scratching on his climb constantly and there was a little shed around his eyes. So she got his first bath that day.

This is probably 15 minutes after the bath. Lots of shed! :blob5:

Here she is "eyeing" her greens. 30 seconds later she devoured them.

Could you possibly redirect me to an explanation of how to put up pictures? It would be much appreciated! :D

Well I have some slightly sad news: My little girl is going through a LOT of relocation stress  (I hope that's what it is...really dark colors and intense stress marks but regular everything else.) So, the pics will have to wait until I feel comfortable with bothering the little one.She did eat quite a lot today though! :blob5: Until I can get some small enough dubias, she is on medium sized crickets (roughly 1/3 inch) and collard greens (she's not taking to them well). Daily mists and baths every other day.

I wouldn't mist at all. As long as the baths are 10-15 minutes in warm water every other/every two days and every day during shedding he'll be fine. Misting raises humidity which can cause URI which, from my understanding, is a terrible pain to cure - not impossible - just difficult.

Yup, sounds like relocation stress. They all go through it. Sometimes is a couple of days and sometimes as much as a month from my understanding. With proper care he should be over it in no time. :D

Ah, well, a compact won't hurt them until you can get the tube. Pet Mountain's website has the ReptiSun 10.0 UVB's cheaper even after shipping costs.

Ahh! Thank you so much. I have now saved that website to my favorites bar. Great money saver! :D :D :D

Oh yeah. I bought two ReptiSuns from them and including s&h it was cheaper than one at Petco not including s&h.

For sure! There price is completely doable! And geez is this beardie an eater....She is (I believe) 4-5 months old (10 inches). Is it okay for her to eat 8 or 9 crickets twice a day?? As I pointed out earlier they are 1/3 inches long roughly and fed with supplemental nutrients...

He should be eating close to 30-50 crickets a day. The low number might be on the count of relocation stress. Beardies are the most expensive to feed when they are young. I found dubia to be the cheapest and best feeder util they are 16" long then I switch them to super worms.

At 10" mine were about 2.5-3 months old. Hope that helps!

Well I guess she's closer to 2.5-3 months then :p I didn't quite realize it was that much oops I feel so stupid! I really thought it was less.... :banghead: I did research but I must have not paid attention to that.... Is that cricket count with feeding of collards???

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
