Zilla's Jump-Start Stimulant

My beardie hasn't been eating much now and i have stumbled upon this jump-start stimulant at the pet store. Does anyone know how this works? Am i supposed to force my boy's mouth open and jam it in? Does it even work? Btw, my temps are 103 in the hot end, 75 in the cool end. Humidity is 40. He is about 7 months old.

We used it at the pet store I used to work at. I can't swear by it but, usually they will lick it off your fingers. Try a small amount first. You may have to gently force feed it if necessary. Sometimes if you gently stroke the side of their jaw they will gape their mouth open. That would be your best chance. Also, keep washcloth nearby, it can be a little gooey. Good luck!

So i've been feeding my boy this stimulant for a few days now... and i don't see an increase in appetite. Could it be that my beardie is sick? I've noticed that he has a lot of stress marks and rarely does his beard/underside turn white. He would lighten up his color when i give him a bath or handle him but when he's in his tank, the stress marks are always there. How long do you have to feed this stuff until they start eating?

While I can't be of much help in answering your direct question, I saw several posts suggesting that Reptaid may work better than JumpStart, if you want to give it a try.

Have you tried to hand feed him at all?

Could be that something is wrong with his tank. Listen to your beardie, if hes more stressed (darker stress marks) when he is inside the tank then perhaps something isnt right in there. What do you use to take the temps? The most accurate thermometer is one with a probe. Also what bulbs do you have? Beardies need a bright white basking bulb and also a UV bulb like repti-sun 10. What have you been trying to feed him? What substrate do you use?
