That just shows that humans have an amazing ability to take care of these creatures. zak n weezie , if born in the wild, definetly would not make it past a month like the doctors said, but with alot of love an entire story can unfold. This is a great lesson for everyone to learn, Humanity

Well the boys are beginning to slow down getting ready for brumation. As most of you know I have never had a hide for them.
I have always created one out of blankies when I could see one of them wanted to hide and snuggle into a corner.
This year they have the perfect hide...for them anyway.
Soft, padded, and can't get hung up anywhere.
Some of you may remember this pic or one of many others where the boys are going for a ride using this cushion in my lap so they can see better and be more comfy....
Well when we returned home from Anaheim I was so tired as were the boys that I just placed the cushion and them into their viv for bed.
The next morning I found them all snuggled up under that cushion so it gave me an idea....
That cushion is just big enough to make a nice little soft archway hide.
How perfect is that for a hide, they'll really like that, plus you can check up on them without moving either of them. Great idea.
I've got two down at home, Rubio & Lonzo. They're awake a bit in the morning but just looking out, won't come out of their hides. So I leave the lights on until I leave for work, no point having them on all day, but when I do put them on it warms up their tank a bit. I'm going to continue getting them up on weekends, when I have more time. I start full-time work on Monday (yes, a necessary evil!) so leave home at 10:30a. Jake still comes in about 5p, I'm lucky I found him!
Thanks Deb! It does work really well because they can pivot around so that one is in the dark and one can still be awake and look out.
Where before Zak was the only one that could get into the dark corner.
My poor little Wheezer's can finally hide without needing mommy to cover him.
The best part is that there's nowhere to get caught up on and the door is large enough.
That is just perfect for the boys and looks great.
I think my big boy is getting ready he is slowing down as well and loves to climb up his branches on the cool side and sleep.
The diva she likes to sit on top of the log but not near the basking light and sleep or in her sand box .
Baby she just runs around her viv ... but is getting a new one Sunday thanks to Deb who has one that she is selling me.... I cant wait to meet her Sunday.
Glad you the family and boys are doing good... well time to put the blankets on the babies as lights have gone out and they are all fast asleep.
Thanks Joanne!
But.....Wait a minute  ...Wait a minute  ....You are getting the opportunity to meet Deb? I'm sooo jealous!
I so love meeting people from this site.
Aw, how lucky are Z&W? A custom made hide for this year's brumation. It seems early to me, but Bob is starting to show signs as well, so I guess it means fall is on the way.
Where the heck have you been lady? How is everything going?
This was an odd year from the beginning...my beardies have been a bit confuse with the different than normal weather this year. Most mine will be down within a week.
However now that we have this simple little hide in play... ...I wonder if Zak will still be a week a head of Wheezie in brumating and coming out of brumation?
