I agree, you can still have a little box of playsand on the side when he gets a little bigger. Once they get older they tend not to lick everything quite as bad & you will have an idea of the personality as well.
Yes you need to change your AIM username & only "invite" certain people not people you don't know.

Sorry you got hate mail! But if you're concerned about the repticarpet too, why not go tile? it is easy to clean and helps keep their nails short.??? hope the carpet works out for you!
