Let me start by saying I did not expect to acquire these two. I currently work at a pet store (I applied in hopes of improving their animal care) and today a lady came in with two juvenile girls. One was pastel colored the other I believe it's called sand fire leatherback. Knowing the stores current care, I offered to take them (fortunately the store had no open cages to house them or otherwise I may not have gotten them). It was a rash decision considering my current personal situation but I figure I could find them a better home instead of risking them at the pet store.
Anyways, I got a better look at these two after taking them to the back. The pastel looks rather healthy if a little dehydrated. I'm more worried about the leatherback. I'll give you a description of both though then later get some pictures for you.

Pastel (who I've named Roux [pronounced roo]):
Missing a front leg and several toes; other front leg is mangled-looking and nonfunctionable, though she can still move the whole arm but not the parts of it. Front missing leg is mostly healed but scabed over slightly. Overall healthy appearance.

Leatherback (named Max):
Rather thin; missing her back leg and part of her tail which are completely healed from what I can tell. Has yellow fungus on a couple feet, her vent, eyes and nose. Dehydrated and emaciated/boney.

Like I said this was a very rash decision; I only have a 29 gallon tank, a heat lamp, and some basking rocks. BUT I'm getting everything else within a week (when I get payed next week). Good timing for the $1 a gallon sale eh? I'll be picking up the two 40 gallons for them next week.

4/5/2013:
Alright, I got the lamisil and betadine today and gave them a bath in diluted betadine. Getting ready to apply lamisil to Max's spots.
Is it alright if Max drank some of the betadine solution?? I gave her a normal bath last night since she was so dehydrated, but she must still be thirsty.
ALSO, since Max has some fungus on her eyelids, how should I go about applying the lamisil there?

More pictures being uploaded at the moment. I just applied the lamisil to Max. She wasn't too fond of it but it got done nonetheless.

More pictures added(below is fungus on Max's front foot):

Poor little sweetie's ....you are doing the right treatment for it, [ lamisil + betadine ] and the missing toes / feet will not impact them much in the long run. The one curved foot looks like a touch of MBD, so getting the proper lights [ reptisun 10.0 tube along with a basking bulb, or a mercury vapor bulb ] and regular calcium powdered food. As for the Y.fungus, it is contagious and so they should be housed + bathed separately for sure. The yellow on the eyes may actually just be natural color....I've seen many beardies with bright eyelids that are different color than their body. If you want to read a thread about one beardie's very long battle with Y.F., look in the infectious disease forum + see Dino's thread . You may get some good ideas + some hope from reading it. Oh, and you don't want them to drink the betadine....give them a clear water bath first for a drink before the betadine bath. I wish you all the best !

Thanks, I will definitely message Tracie. And check out Dino's post!

There's actually peeling and crusting on her eyes is why I believe there's yellow fungus, it's a little hard to see in the pictures. I managed to get her to close her eyes and dabbed it onto the top eyelid.

Was there any explanation to you as to why the beardies were in such awful condition? i can't imagine someone allowing them to be hurt that badly. Kudos to you for taking them in its such a sad story.. i hope for the best for them! To prevent any more injuries they should get there own separate tanks asap! Good luck!

Thanks! I'm definitely going to separate them ASAP. Maybe I can talk to my manager at the pet store and ask to borrow an aquarium until Friday. I'll let you all know how it goes!

Also I wasn't told why they were kept so horribly, they just told us that the girls were sick and they couldn't care for them :(

Last night the girls ate plenty of roaches and some crickets. Such hungry ladies!

Just got home from work and checked on the girls... one of them (pretty sure it's Max) regurged all their dubia from last night :( She isn't interested in eating right now but I'm going to give her another bath (already gave her one today) and see if she feels better after that. Roux is still hungry though and ate a few dubia.

Those pictures are heartbreaking... Poor babies :(
Thank goodness you took them in though, they'll finally be able to receive the care they need. Dino's thread is definitely worth checking out.. I actually have some catching up to do myself! Anyway, it's going to be a long, tough battle for both you and the dragons but please don't give up! Thanks again for taking them in <3

So Max hasn't eaten yet today either; she closes her eyes a lot now too, which I don't think she did when I first brought her home. Maybe I got some of the limisil in her eyes? :(
She's really thin too and it's worrying me that she won't eat now, after she originally ate a lot. But I may have let her eat too much and it made her sick. Hopefully she will start eating again in a few days.

Can anyone tell me if ketoconazole is any good for this fungus? I called my local cat&dog vet (reptile vet wasn't available to speak) and he recommended this for my dragon. He admittedly doesn't have a lot of reptile experience and can't do a cytology on the fungus but the other vet I mentioned can. I will be calling back on Friday to possibly set up an appointment.

Thanks! Tracie said it will be ok to use, so I'll have to see about picking some up.

Max ate some squash baby food yesterday, I'm happy she got something into her! Her fungus seems to be clearing up a little bit as well, on her head and vent both. I'll post a picture when I get home to update.

An update of Max's fungus:

Not the best picture but I really think it's clearing up fast! It looks a lot better than it did when I got her!

Max will not go after live food or veggies yet, only drinking from her bath and eating baby food dabbed on her lips (which I think she really likes). At least she's eating something though; I just hope she doesn't stay on baby food for the rest of her life! That seems awfully inadequate for a beardie diet!

Anyways, came home to this today, and had to snap a pic it's too cute:

Roux's a little strange but she's got a huge appetite! For a while there she wouldn't eat the smaller baby roaches, I thought maybe she had some sight problems because she only went after the big ones. Turns out she was just being stubborn because chased every roach down today, big or small, from across the tank! I'm glad she's feeling well. Max seems to be less distressed as well; she barely puts up a fight now when I apply the lamisil (she really struggled at first seeing as I'm a new strange person trying to put this cold nasty stuff on her lol!). I think she's starting to trust me!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
