The stuff that starts with a C....Critical care you said before ? And every 2-3 hours a bath, is what her vet said. Well, if she's drinking every time, that's good. And to reiterate, this is advice from the reptile vet expert over the phone [ because he's 3 hours away ] and the vet close by will be the one doing the X-rays. Let her get one long good drink in [ if she would take via syringe or dropper even ] and then probably put her to bed. Thankfully she has had a few good drinks today. Her condition is pretty critical, so it will be touch and go no matter what. You poor things, I feel for you and your dragon both !

Critical care isn't the same. I'm UK too. Critical care is a protein and vitamin complex which can be used in place of food over here. Reptoboost is the UK rehydrating electrolyte formula.

She and I have gone to bed, separately obviously, her long before me. I'll be up every couple of hours just to look at her without waking her. Should I give her more to drink in early hours, or let her sleep? Do have syringes.

Oh cool. I'll try to grab both.
Might not be able to find the reptoboost, but can def get critical care.

She's still breathing.

The vet might have reptoboost- I actually always find it easier to get. If youcant get it tho, look for hydrolife- it's much the same thing. You can also use dioralyte if you can't find those-from the pharmacy!

The stuff with electrolytes is what you want, as Miss T mentioned, and the Critical care might be good as well since she's not eating. I would be afraid to wake her to give her fluids, if she is half asleep, she could aspirate. But you could wake up earlier than usual possibly to give fluids right off the bat, then keep the lights on as normal.

Thanks guys. I feel shaky as hell, what an unpleasant evening. Thanks for your support and I will keep you updated.

Lol, just checked in on her and caught Hyphen dreaming. He was kicking in his sleep.

A lot of us have been where you are right now. I still check on Kazi every couple of hours through the night.

If you get the reptoboost, run a shallow bath and add 2 scoops. I'm not sure of the instructions for hydrolife. With the critical care, do 1 scoop powder to 5-6 scoops water- if she won't take critical care from the syringe, you can also bath her in it.

I hope she is feeling a little better after a good rest.

Thanks, that's great advice and much appreciated. She appears to be sleeping with her head up in the air. Tsam does that, but not something I've known Kyle do for a long time.

When Kazi was sleeping like that, I doubled over his blankie and then folded a corner to make a little pillow. It seemed to make him more comfortable.

Hello,

How is your girl doing tonight?
Have you gotten blood work done on her yet? How long has she been puffing herself up like that?
I would watch her very closely as that type of bloating is not normal when she is dented in on her head. It seems indicative for something internal going on. Possibly egg binding, but not necessarily renal or liver failure as that usually causes swelling on the eyes & or extremities.
Has she ever laid infertile eggs before?

It's 5am. She's still with us, still sleeping, still sunken round the head but she has relaxed and deflated her tummy.

Have to wait til mon for bloodworks as local vet isn't confident dealing with reptiles ans specialist long way away (i don't have car or family here). Can get there Monday, she should be in.

Never known her to lay before, no. (she's four.)

Tough cookie Kyle was not impressed with the early morning bath - she did NOT want to wake up. I supported her at all times, and when she warmed up a little she had what I can only describe as a pee.

I scooped her up, as she was very gassy too, and the pee was like someone pouring thin brown tea into the bath. I'd say it was a fair amount for a beardie and she perked right up.

Gave the bath a quick wash down and ran another warm bath. She drank slowly but considerably when I supported her head and wiggled the water with the tips of my fingers.

She's a very poorly dragon still, but a brave and determined one I hope. :)

She's tucked, wrapped in the softest towel, down the front of my dressing gown until her tank warms up a little. We used to do that when she was a small dragon and she seems sleepy but content now.

Still very sunken, but hope for improvement.

Hello,

Please keep us posted on Kyle. I hope that she can hold on until monday for you.
So she has never laid & she is 4? That is interesting.
That is great she did drink in her bath though, it must have helped her somewhat. I really hope the sunken in areas on her head will fil out more.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
