Dawn, I feel so bad, it's just terrible. 
It seemed like she was starting to improve after the surgery. My heart aches for both of you. She was SO loved and certainly knew it. Poor Xena tried so hard.............

The Rainbow Bridge
inspired by a Norse legend
By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.
For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.
No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.
They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.
For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last.
The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever,
And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge...
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they miss someone very special to them; who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent; the eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to break away from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. YOU have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Oh Dawn, I am so sorry for you, Carl and Carlye. Words cannot express how badly I feel for you and your family.
Xena was a sweet little beardie and knew just how much each of you loved her.
It was a tough battle for her and she fought to the bitter end, but now she is resting peacefully.
Please take comfort in knowing what a wonderful life you gave Xena. No one could have loved her more.

Gosh, Dawn, I'm really sorry. She tried hard but just couldn't make it. We will never forget her. I know how much you hurt. We always hurt when our precious beardies die, from whatever the cause. My guess is that she just couldn't keep going. She tried to for you. One of the first two beardies we had tried to hold on, she was anorexic for more than one year until she decided she just couldn't go on any more.

I am so very sorry for your loss of your special & beautiful Xena. She held on for so long for you as she did not want to leave. I was hoping so much that she had turned a corner, & I guess she had to go help some other beardies at the Rainbow Bridge. I promise you that she will always be with you & that you will see her again.

I am so very sorry. I wish I could say something to make this better for you and Carl. Just know you did everything you possibly could and that Xena knew how much you all loved her. My heart aches for you and I will keep you in my thoughts.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
