i can see people putting the ones with crickets, superworms. hornworms etc.....but the lizards and mice are just sick....ESPECIALLY THE LIZARDS....its like people that get pitbulls just to show off how tough their pet is....im seriously disturbed

why would anyone wanna torture another animal with such a brutal prolonged death....i really hate PETA ...but maybe they should weigh in on this one

on a side note i know alot of people from here have some vids on there cause i recognize their beardies names.....and have to say thanks for putting up funny rather than gross vids

hey, i completely agree...there are some pretty brutal vids up there. but also alot of helpfull, interesting and just hilarious vids of some really nice looking dragons. sometimes i can just zone out for a cuple hours on there watching vids

i have to say i disagree... if you can maliciously kill a cricket or worm, whats so much better about a mouse or another lizard? it's simply the cycle of life, and the diversity of food is probably a fantastic thing for their dragon. i mean, if i had a snake i'd feed it all kinds of fuzzy animals and not feel 1 bit bad about it because thats what they eat, thats how they survive, and thats nature. however!!! there is a limit. if they are sitting here laughing their (inappropriate word removed by moderator. This is a PG 13 forum so please try to keep that in mind when posting) off or somehow making it worse then it needs to be then those people are sick. but simply showing off your dragon eating another creature, because lets be honest we all get a kick out of watching them chase down their pray, is just fine in my book

Same thing with iguanas. Iguanas are strict vegetarians and there are lots of vids of them eating mice and other lizards. If you want to kill your iggy slowly, watch those vids. Well meaning people look online for what to feed thier reptiles and come across the poorly fed reptiles and give the same diet to their reptiles.

For example, I have a friend that argued with me that iguanas live on a strict diet of salamanders and anoles and never eat veggies. We had a big debate that lastest for about six months. He sent me you-tube vids of other igs eating these reptiles. Then he proudly boasted that his iguana died of old age at four years old. My iguana is 9 yr, going on 10 yr. Igs live to a respectable age of 13-20 years in captivity. My vet said that since mine was a poorly fed ig before I got her, he would be happy to get 7 or 8 years out of her, well she beat that! Why? Becuase I questioned what I saw on you-tube and feed her veggie and fruit salads every day. My friend is not the only one that thinks what is on you-tube is the definative word on animal care.

Yes there are the informative vids that gives correct information, there are cute and funny ones, but sadly, people seem to follow the wrong advice and will argue with you that they are right. But this cannot be regulated at all. The only way is to try to educate someone that thinks that it is ok to feed a anole to an iguana or to torment a beardie with a snake.

Unfortunately this is the society we live in. People have been so desensitized by watching their own kind being murdered on TV, movies, video games, etc... Does the life of an animal or reptile have any merit ? To alot of people, the answer is NO.

It is a sad world we live in, but unfortunately it is reality.By no means am I condoning it. It's just the sad truth.

the thing is the crickets go instantly...(CRUNCH) and they are dead......the mice and especially the lizard seem to suffer a bit....and in one theres this guy laughing about how the mouses head needs to be crushed before his beardie can swallow it....

as for snakes....i have a python and yes she eats mice....but her natural food is mice and she kills em damn near instantly......dont get me wrong ...i love watchin osker chase down his crickets....but thats different than sticking a parakeet in the cage and watching 2 beardies just pecking at it for the sake of funny haha

I agree completely.

Granted, it is okay to feed your beardie (though I think this only applies to females, really, for the most part) PINKY mice, but that's it, and even then that's only on a very, VERY, occassional basis (not even), just because they are so fatty. They don't need them to survive.

As one person said, crickets and worms go "crunch" and they are done, the beardies have to struggle a bit to get the mice down. And if this owner has to crush the mouse's head just so his beardie can eat it, then it is WAY too big for that beardie to be eating anyways. Anoles...well, they're not in the recommended food group either is all I can about that (plus, I love all reptiles and could not stand to see one eating another unless it was out in the wild...).

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
