Not to worry, Bean has been the affection of many smooches over the past week, much to her(so weird to say 'her'!) dismay. I'm still watching her like a hawk until I know for certain that she is doing well. She's got high calcium levels which are a sign of follicles, so I am hoping that that is what we are dealing with as opposed to anything more serious. Poor munchkin must be dealing with quite the identity crisis at the moment :lol:

Some not-so-good news today...I was sitting with Bean today on the couch and got up for a second and in that second she jumped from the chair to the wooden floor. She black bearded immediately, so I'm sure she's in some pain...just not sure where. After the fall she ran a bit and a few minutes ago I offered her a few waxworms which she ate. Her beard is now not as noticable, but I'm worried that something may have happened with the follicles/eggs. I'm planning on going back to the vet this week sometime to have an ultrasound done so hopefully if there is anything wrong from the fall I'll be able to see that too. I'm crossing my fingers that since only last week we noticed the follicles, hopefully she's not so gravid to the point where an egg could have broken. I took all of her cage furniture out for the evening so she's on a flat surface, and lined the tank with blankies. I hope it's a good sign that she's walking/eating too....urgh! My poor baby

Oh no!! Oh Bean, why did you go and do that???!! I hope she is ok. My girl Puff has jumped from some pretty high places,,no matter how hard I try to watch her...sometimes she just gets too fast...anyway, she has never gotten hurt,but she has never black bearded either after one of her jumps.
I would be worried about the eggs too,,but hopeufully all is well.

Thanks so much Kelly. She's sleeping now, no black beard anymore but I still want to get her checked out. I have very limited knowledge on gravid dragons so I'm pretty much in the dark with this stuff. The beard went away after about an hour and she seems back to normal so fingers crossed.

I've been creepin' on this thread for the past few days. Bean is such a cutie! :love5: And I love her name! (Actually Brick's name was almost Bean )

Good luck with Bean's eggies too! I'm not looking forward to whenever Lady decides it's time to "egg" us; it sounds a bit stressful. :? (She was bred twice before we got her though, and laid 2 clutches each time, so maybe she got all the egg-laying days out of her system if that's possible).
And speaking of stressful, I hope silly Bean is okay after that jump! Maybe she was just startled afterwards and that's why she bearded? Crossing human and beardie fingers & toes for you both, and sending lots of well wishes your way <3 <3

How is Bean doing today?
I am glad to hear her beard is not dark right now. An ultrasound would be a good idea to do especially after her fall, too. How is she doing this morning?

I hope she didn't hurt herself. I doubt that any harm would come to any of the eggs....if she has trouble with them, it probably wouldn't be from the fall because they are soft + leathery and cushioned inside her. I once dropped an entire clutch of eggs that were more than halfway incubated, they all just bounced/rolled on the floor. I thought maybe the fall would kill the eggs.... I put them back in more vermiculite and they actually ended up hatching.

Ahbd: Good to know! She seems in better spirits today so I am optimistic.

Tracie: She's much happier today and the beard is still gone. I'm setting up an ultrasound appointment for either tomorrow or Wednesday so we will have more knowledge soon. I will keep updating as I find out more! Thank you everyone for your well wishes

I do have a question re: digging. I got a laybox set up, but I'm not sure when it's time to put Bean in it. She is still fairly subdued, but gets very hyper and glass dances a few times a day. No digging though. I don't want to prevent her from laying, but the times I've tried to put her in the lay box she just scratches the sides and tries to get out. :/

Going in for our ultrasound tomorrow. Fingers crossed that Bean is just gravid and there is nothing wrong. She's been so sleepy lately that it worries me. When I take her out she perks right up and runs around but when she's in her tanks she basks literally all day and will eat when I hand feed her. My saving grace is that she has bright orange colors, no dark beard since the fall off of the couch.

I just want to know what's going on with my baby Wish us luck tomorrow! I will update as soon as I know more.

Thanks so much Kelly. Sadly, no new updates. The ultrasound was cancelled because apparently the ultrasound technician called in sick.
Theyre going to call me as soon as she's back so I'm hoping that is soon!
