worms or crickets?

I have a 1 1/2 year old bearded dragon, I adopted him a few months ago from another family. They say he ate salad and crickets at their house. For me, he wouldn't eat crickets. I just bought some phoenix worms and he seems to be eating those. Are worms ok to feed instead of crickets? At his age, how many worms should I offer him? Do I feed him worms every day? He is a picky eater, I offer him greens everyday, but he doesn't always eat them. He does like watermelon and cantaloupe. Should I worry about him not eating everyday?

At his age, he should be eating mostly greens. Try collard, mustard, turnip, etc. greens. Mix is some other veggies, too.

But, worms are fine instead of crix. I would suggest feeding him proteins only 3 or 4 times a week, since he is a full grown adult. Phoenix worms can be used as a staple, but they are very small, so a guy like that can eat a ton of them! You can use superworms (no meal worms!), butter worms, silk worms, horn worms.. (just not wax worms, since they are very fatty). Any of those are safe to use as a staple, as far as I know. You should feed him however many he can eat in 5-15 minutes.
