It was 96F in my room! I used house bulbs in my vivs (25watt) and they still stayed warm.

So much for it being cooler toward the ocean! LOL Glad you were able to keep beardie happy. Our girl refused to stay in her viv. She can't stand for the gradient to be too high. Even though I was able to maintain ok basking temps, the cool side was too hot and she wasn't having any of it. Unfortunately, she is now VERY spoiled... wants out a lot during the day to sit in her "sunny" window. She was more than a little disappointed yesterday when her sunny window feature not sun, but strange wet stuff falling from the sky. "Huh?!" Poor beardie, she's going to have to adjust... fall is on the way!

I'm not sure how old my dragon is exactly, but she's quite young. I have some pictures posted in the "Photo Expressions" forum and I'm about to post some more I just took in a second.

Oh great, I'll head over and take a look! :D

I'm feeding my crickets left over salad from my beardie, potatos/orange slices, and flukers dry food.

Oh that's great... I've gotten into the habit of warning people about the orange cubes, as the container says "full cricket diet" even though it's really not. Reptile supplies are hopelessly unregulated. *sigh*

In total, I've fed my beardie about 50 crickets, probably more today. A little bit ago I offered her some crickets and she didn't go after them, or take them from tongs. I think she's full. LOL

LOL, I hear ya. Today I was feeding our girl some phoenix worms by hand (spoiled is she!), and when she's done she always bows her head down as if to say, "Enough already!"

The best,
Em

Summer is always too short here, and I missed my chance to take my beardie outside. :(

There's a lot of reptile supplies, and fish supplies I don't agree with. I guess that can be said for a lot of pet supplies though. People try and sell some crazy stuff..

Oh, you said a mouthful there! This week has had me VERY concerned that it's all over... please no, NOT yet! I'm NOT ready for fall! :(

*sigh* Yep, it's pretty much epidemic. :dontknow:

I got little bugs in with my 1/4" crix from Mulberry farms once. They said they were bugs that get in to eat the feed also. They said they are harmless but I took them all out. Yuck!

They are pretty freaky looking!
Remind me of caterpillars.
I'd still like to know what they really are, a latin name or something.

If they are furry larva looking things, they are likely to be Dermestid Beetle larvae.

Here is a link I found...They eat dead crickets and unwanted stuff..

They're eating the dead crickets. I found out those are great to have a colony of, if you're into preserving bones. They will eat all the meat off even the smallest of bones if you skin the animal and dry it under a heat lamp first. Pretty neat bugs.

Cool.
I found a black beetle in there this morning, so now I know where it came from.
Thanks!

They wont harm my live crickets though?

Oh!!! This explains why I occasionally have a little black beetle in with the crickets! I figured it was just a different feeder from Flukers that found it's way into the cricket bin! The little worms and the beetles are connected. How did I not think of it before?! And well, if the worms are bit creepy, the beetles are kind of cute.

Ecto - I've left the little beetles in for weeks and they don't seem to bother the crickets in the least. :dontknow:

Now I've read they kill and eat crickets?
Dunno if I should take them out or leave them...

I have never noticed a large number of crickets disappearing (of course, I order 500 at a time, so I would be likely to notice - LOL). I'd say if your concerned at all just remove them (a just in case measure if you will). :)

They are called "cleaner bugs". They don't do anything to the crickets. They turn in to little beetles that fly. I don't feed them to my BD but I guess it is ok to leave them to eat the cricket poop and the occasional dead cricket.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
