WONT STOP TRYING TO ESCAPE

My beardie is about 5 or 6 months old I’ve had her for about 4 months and everything’s been good. She got a respiratory infection about 3 weeks ago because of the humidity. That’s been fixed with a dehumidifier and a week of antibiotics. About a week ago she’s started scratching and trying to climb out of her viv and she was still in a 20 gal because I didn’t want to stress her out by moving her when she was sick. I’ve moved her into a 50 gal and she’s still doing the same thing. All day long and I’m scared she’s gonna hurt herself from jumping around too much. I can’t figure out what she’s stressed about or if it’s just that she just wants out to run around. Her stressing makes me stress so much. Advice would be sooo appreciated

Hi. Of course it is hard to guess what might be going on, assuming her temps on both sides are correct. I will say that my girl scratches at the glass when she wants me to take her out. I have even trained her to climb up my arms or chest?. Sometimes it is because she is hungry, wants me to put her in the sun to bask, or just wants to hang out with me. My dragon that was potty trained did it when she wanted out to poop. So, your dragon’s reason could be internal or external. You need to pay attention to what she does when she comes out and what she does when she is in.
I know that is not much help, but your dragon is obviously wanting something.... they are pretty smart

Thanks so much for responding! Her temps on basking side is 103 and her cool side is 78. She’s been going to the bathroom if not every day every other day which is all normal. She isn’t eating as much as she has in the past but I figured it’s because she’s getting older and wants more salad than the crickets she gets. When I take her out she just runs around like she can’t sit still! Her color is bright as can be with no stress marks. She’s driving me crazy with the scratching and jumping around but maybe all she wants is to be out and run around more lol she also hasn’t shed in about a month which is concerning me a little. I know when they get older they don’t shed as much as little ones do but I’m still worried :/

I have learned that they all have very different personalities. The best practice is knowing your dragon. At night if you take her out does she snuggle in and sleep peacefully on you?
Does she go to a certain place when she gets out? Do you have a hide in her bib, so she can hide and chill if she wants?
As long as her poop looks and smells normal, she is eating her normal diet.. 80% protein, 20% veggies and some fruit at her age, basking, and has no black beard or stress marks, I wouldn’t worry too much. Just try to figure out what that silly girl is wanting.
Oh, the shedding does slow as they age. It is very random in my two kids.

Give her a daily chance to run about and explore on the floor in a lizard safe area of the home.... this will help her burn off some of those extra beans.... likely she'll trot about very excitedly with her tail up in antenna tail mode and eventually she'll crash , find a corner , curl up and have a nap.

Stay with her and supervise her the whole time …. don't be surprised if she comes up to you after a while asking you pick her up (for a snuggle , or wanting to go back in her tank).
