Won't get out of bed in the morning?

I've been having to pick Wolfgang up out of bed and place him on his basking spot for the past few days, simply because he won't get up and move there himself. I'm not quite sure why, though.

Lights are off by 9:30, come on by 8:00-8:30. I don't have a timer set up yet, so I drag myself out of bed to turn on the lights, then go back to sleep. For the past couple of weeks or so, I've been wrapping him up in a dish towel and placing him on his hammock to sleep, which he seems to like. But perhaps he likes it too much?

It worries me because he just seems so cold. At first he would scramble out of the blanket on his own...But now it just seems he'd prefer to stay on his hammock. He's not really hiding, usually has his head and part of his chest poking out by the time I turn on the lights.

So...Is he just too comfortable? Too stubborn to get up now that he knows I'll pretty much put him on his basking spot for him? Or is it something more serious? It worries me to death...If he keeps this up, then he's going to have to go back to sleeping on his basking rock at night.

(With my luck, he proably picked this up by watching me sleep in :roll: )

If the rest of his behavior (eating, pooping etc..) is fine then I wouldn't worry. They do love to have a soft place to cuddle. My female would do this same thing for awhile but, i had to take her towel out since it got the poo on it. :lol:
Just never put it back in.

Yeah, I take out the towel as soon as he's off it.

After that he basks on his own, eats normally, and poops every morning. I guess I just have a lazy boy xD

:lol: I like it too! I haven't tried wrapping in a towel (or rather dish cloth for now) but I'm gonna now! I think Delilah would love it and I have a hammock I could put her on. She actually got underneath the paper towel last night and nestled in the corner close to the heater.... Thanks for the idea and I hope Wolfgang perks up for you. Delilah's becoming lazy too while Samson is perking up. She seems fine and content so I don't worry. I just cuddle her and check her over a lot to watch for any signs of her being sick or hurt. Only time I see her getting it is at 'dinner time'. Teehee

Rex does the same thing. I wrap him up in a little bath towel and put him on his hammock when its time to go to ground. He always falls right asleep and in the morning I just turn his lights on and let him do his own thing. They're just like humans...they don't want to get out of bed, lol.

He's been getting up by himself the past few mornings. Which is good, seeing as though I don't have to get up before ten when he gets his sun-bathing time xD I'm starting to think that he doesn't like his blanket as much as he used to...I might try something a bit softer.

As long as you don't want something fancy, you can do what I did. Since winter is coming I wanted to get my scaly masters some warmer blankets, but money is a bit tight. I went to Walmart(some still have a fabric dept) and paid less than $4 for a half yard of fleece fabric. I divided it into three equal pieces and now they all love snuggling in them at night.
