just make sure the site's reputable and the weather in your area isn't too cold, and you should be fine. Just DON"T EVER SHIP UPS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD THEY ARE TERRIBLE

Any site you order from will take care of the shipping for you. Don't fret about it, just research the breeder first. I have gotten 3 of my dragons through the mail and they have all been fine. Here's some breeders to check out that are really good:

Kaizen Reptiles- I got Cash from this guy- http://www.kaizenreptiles.com/
Carolina Classic Dragons- https://www.facebook.com/pages/Carolina-Classic-Dragons-LLC/143737875910
Corky Jordan over at Diamond Den Reptiles- https://www.facebook.com/DiamondDen
Chris Allen- https://www.facebook.com/ChrisAllenReds
Greathouse Farms- http://greathousefarm.com/
Rio Reptiles- http://www.rioreptiles.com/
TND Dragons: http://www.tnddragons.com

I have ordered 2 online, both from reputable breeders found on this site. One was shipped early fall, the other is waiting for warm weather to be shipped. I live in northern maine and at this time it is too cold for safe shipping.
Baby Birdie was shipped in a box with foam insulation and shredded paper within a cloth bag tied. The packing was perfect and she arrived healthy and eating almost immediately out of box. Stumpy is waiting for warmer weather to be shipped.
So if you live in a colder climate u may want to wait till spring to order, using the wait to get the perfect set up and research this site and find out what is needed for a happy healthy dragon. :) this site has a wealth of knowledge.
If u live outside of the U.S. I cant help you but I am sure someone here could answer that.
good luck

UPS is fine for shipping. You [ RandyMarsh ? ] must mean don't use USPS.... United Postal service . They can't guarantee 10:30 a.m delivery like Fedex and UPS do. UPS ships overnight just like Fedex. I've used them many times, as well as Fedex.

Just a warning but with UPS and FedEx if you live in a rural area you won't get the dragon until later in the day. All my delivered dragons were supposed to be by 10:30 am but didn't arrive until after 4 pm. I called to complain to the companies and they said that due to where I lived they could not guarantee that. The dragons were perfectly healthy when they did arrive but it is always a nerve racking wait lol They do take good care of the packages though so don't sweat it too much.

That's true Nefarian....most areas have a 10:30 guarantee, a few have a 12:00 guarantee and a small number have " end of day " If you Google UPS or Fedex shipping rates, type in the town the breeder lives in , which is the departure , and then your zip, the website will tell you what time guarantee you fall under. If you do your homework, you can find the shipping center nearest to you, have the Breeder mark it " hold for customer" and your name + phone # on the package, [ you must have a photo I.D.] and you can drive to town where the UPS/ Fedex center is. But in most cases, your package will be delivered by 10:30 a.m., and you can find that out by taking the steps I mentioned.

Its so nerve racking though. I deal with ups, usps, and fedex all day at work( warranty returns) and almost every box its destroyed when it gets to me, which is why i posted this lol. Im just making sure i wont wind up with a crushed dragon is all.
