So, soon I'm getting a beardie, I'm very anxious about that! I have all my set up ready for the beardie to arrive. But I have some questions about the feeding and feeders.
I'll be getting a baby BD, so I know they eat a lot. I was wondering, what size of crickets doe they eat?
Also I saw that in this forum people seem to like a lot dubia roaches, so, what size of dubia roaches would a beardie eat? And how many? I thought dubias are kind of big insects, so that's why I'm asking.
Is there anything better nutritionally speaking for a baby BD?
Thanks!

Dubias have babies too! Seriously though, general rule of thumb is no bigger than the space between your BD's eyes. It it's only a few month old feed the "smalls" or the 1/8 - 1/4" crickets or roaches.

So, also dubias live longer right? There are different types of them? Because the ones I knew looked like this:

This look gigantic for a bearded dragon!

But I also saw some that look like this:

These ones I like the least, the have wings!

Those pictures you have of the Dubias are of full grone adults. Small dubias are as small as crickets! And with the roaches you don't run the risk of pinworms like you do with those smelly, loud and die to fast crickets!

Sorry for the noob question, but what are "pinworms" and why is a risk?
Also, would you suggest to buy, say, 500 small dubias? Would they last for months before becoming adults?

No problem with ?'s. Crickets can carry pinworms, that can get passed on to your BD, they are a pain to get rid of (personal experience). Also dubia's are a much better meat to shell ratio than crickets, so you will get a LOT more bang for your buck with the roaches! 500 small dubia's will not grow that fast, as long as you keep them at room temp (higher temp, faster groth). Plus if you feed them and water them you will not have a die off problem that you will with crickets. Side by side it's hands down that dubia's are the way to go IMO, I did crickets for a long time but will never again.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
