Which UV bulb should I get?

My wonderful DH built this amazing enclosure for Zaxxi. It's Is just shy of 4' long and just over 2' deep and high. I currently have some wooden logs baking in the oven to start filling in the viv with. (Doesn't it look bare?)



So far we just moved the lights from her old one into this one. I know that's not enough and I'm starting to look at getting a tube UV light. How long should I go? I know I saw a graph somewhere with different amounts of UV at different distances from the bulb, but I can't find that now. ANyone know what I'm talking about?

This should help you pick what setup and distance to use. I like to use the sunbeam method, since dragons are "sunworshipers". However, many people still have great success with lower UVI "shade" type methods.


If you can find some nice branches your little one may enjoy climbing about and have more choices what to do.

We have branches. My sister's neighbor was cutting down a tree. We got some nice ones. There are some logs that are hollow in the middle from ants... (Don't worry. We will carefully inspect it once it's done baking.) And some that are places where the limb branches into two or three. We are planning to give her lots of room to climb.

We settled on the reptisun 10. We got a fixture and installed it. So, here's my new question. It's at the top of the viv because that made sense. We are building a climbing thing for her out of some branches. As long as she has the ability to get close to it, then that's ok right? Like, if we make her a basking spot at the top of the viv, she will self regulate?
