Hi everyone,

It’s me again. I bought a 60W CHE from Zoo Med. I was advised by the shop to buy a wire light (like a caged dome) but then 75% of the heat just goes into my room instead of in the terrarium.

I went back to the shop and they sold me a mini deep dome by Zoo Med. But the box explicitly sais not to use it with a CHE.

I also own a light dome by Exo Terra (also sais onbthe packaging not to be used with a CHE)

Can I use one of these two?

Advice needed :)

Your CHE needs a ceramic socket-- if those two do not have them exchange them for one that does and has the correct wattage -- you want a dome so the heat goes into the tank --

Both of them have a ceramic socket. So I can just use them? It’s only a 60W CHE and I have it on a thermostat just to raise the temp 2-3 degrees at night. The temps have been dropping below 65 lately.

Use the mini deep dome make sure it can handle wattage

Which ever you decide to use, make sure it has a ceramic socket. The resin or plastic types won't hold up to a che.
Also try to make sure the cord doesn't lay right on the ceramic, it will eventually become hardened and could crack off causeing a fire hazard.

Link for the ceramic socket fixtures or deep heat projector? Any fixture you buy should state if its a ceramic socket or not and the dhp you can now buy at petcos and petsmarts. They are called arcadia deep heat projectors. Arcadia is the brand. You can find other brands online that are cheaper but not as good pf quality

I have questions about bubbles on our bearded dragons eye.

So he’s gotten bubbles on his eye. We wiped them off and it’s only been twice in the last few weeks. Should we be concerned? No coughing or congestion. He’s very hungry and sleeps well. He’s 8-9 month range. His humidity is 30-40 day time and as high as 50-55 at night to early morning.
Should we be concerned?
