I only saw your last post. You got what order? From where? I received phoenix today to hold me (or Sandy) for a while. Everywhere seems to be out of silkies and butter. Crickets are always a backup (UGG).

At just about 6 months.........she eats a lot more. Need to expand the househould food budget. Since the phoenix came today and I got home at 6pm..................she ate about 25 phoenix. You know you're a beardie slave when you open the box of worms before taking off your shoes, reading the mail and pouring a drink for yourself. What a trip I'm on.......... luv it.

Hey Guys,
How old should your beardie be before feeding other types of worms. I would love a viariety for Ollie, she is taking mini mealworms, crickets and greens. I was you guys are doing butter worms and silk worms. I thought about ordering the kit to hatch the silk worms.
Thanks,
zoomommi :p

Silkworms are very hard to raise...........but I never tried, just read. Silkies, phoenix and butterworms are good feeders. Many others are NOT good. I wouldn't waste money on snack type stuff............it cost plenty to feed a beardie and personally, I want everything to be nutritious. Beautiful Dragons.com has good suggestion for nutritious food.

Hi,
I went to the coastalsilkworms.com and ordered some silkworms and a kit & eggs to hatch. They were out of the small silkies so I ordered the medium. I called and they were very nice. He shipped them out today. My Ollie is only relieving herself every couple of days and I am worried. She pooped in the tub last night so I am going to give her a bath in the morning.
I think the silkies will be better for her regularity.

Hornworms are an excellent staple also. Hornworms and silkies are about the same except I feel hornworms are hardier and less apt to contaminate your beardie with a bad bacteria that silkies can carry. Supers are a great feeder for an adult.

Hornworms and silkworms get very expensive if you use them as staples. I wish I could use them as staples but I dont have a job so I cant afford them that often. So Im stuck with smelly crickets. They are in the laundry room so we cant smell them. Only when I feed my bd.

I tried breeding silkworms but none hatched... I think I did it wrong thats why but yeah... lol

I thought Diablo would eat the silkies before they died but he didnt and most of them died... grrrr. Oh well....that just shows me not to forget to buy the silkworm chow again. lol

Hopefully in the new year I can get more silkies and some horns. I know Diablo loves hornworms lol.

Hey, actually whoever mentioned the coastalsilkworms.com, that is a good website! $11 for 100 medium silkies... not bad at all!

I like the "pods".............all inclusive. When I got the silkies separate from their food............despite putting food on them, they hardly grew at all - and extra small only got to small. The pods seem to get them big in a short time. I've only seen pods at Coastal.

I'm sure your silkies will be gobbled up in no time. If you double check the order sheets you'll see pods. No sweat, we all are learning about our exotic pets.

Mulberry Farms normally has pods. They only have small worms and eggs avaliable right now. I ordered the silkworm kit from Coastal and the worms were ok. I think the worms that I get from Mulberry are heartier. Over the past week I have lost about a dozen silkies, I never lost any from the Mulberry Farms' order. Not sure i would order from Coastal again. :(

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
