What's wrong with him?

A week ago today I bought a bearded dragon, Ike. He's been very happy and good since I brought him home nothing that would concern me. I got a started kit which I learned has awful uvb/uva lighting. I went out and bought a light which I later found out didn't produce enough. So I ended up ordering a t5 HO repisun 30 inch terrarium hood with a T5 light bulb. Which from what I read is one of the best to get. The second the light turned on Ike start acting really odd. He cowarded and started slowly waving alternating between both arms. He was doing it for about 10/15 minutes so we decided to take him out cuddle him and love him. He had a great time and was acting his normal curious self. But when we but him back in he started again. He'll switch between running along the front part of his cage then waving. Hes never acted this way, so I'm starting to get worried. What's going on with him?

The light is probably too strong / too close, check the temperatures with a reliable electronic thermometre. However, it may just be that he is used to a lower temp and therefore is just uncomfortable. I rehoused my beardies and when I got them the lights fitted were not up to the jod for the viv, I brought new lighting and this disturbed mine for awhile, temperatures were correct, but I guess it takes a little time for them to get used to the change.

After a few days mine settled down though.

If you got the T5 HO it came with a 5.0 bulb which is not for desert creatures it is more like rainforest uvb, this is why we say 10.0 T5HO. I know its kinda confusing, it also confused me at first. I ordered mine on line a lot cheaper than at a store. Also it won't change your temps as the put off little to no heat. Just make sure he has a spot for shade to escape the uvb rays.
