What's normal juvenile behavior?

Hi- So I have a 9 month old beardie and I just wanted to check and see if his behavior is normal. Some days he runs around a bit and is a little crazy and then other days he just lays in his basking spot all day and goes to sleep early. Is this usual behavior for a juvenile? Just trying to figure out what's normal for him and all his crazy mood swings.
Viv set up: 4x2x2 tank, 105 hot spot 85 cool side, reptisun T5 10.0 HO UVB 8 in from basking spot

The distance for a T 5 is 12-15 inches directly over the basking decor inside the tank -- your screen must be a wide hole type if its on the screen and distance would then be 8-10-- and yes its normal for them to be active and then bask most of the day on certain days --
