Even if it's overcast/raining, they still soak up the uv outside. If it's that cold that it's snowing, I'd just be patient & wait 'til Spring - it'll be a much nicer experience. There's no set temp though, I'd just stick to a nice warm day for one that's normally inside. As long as you've got UV lighting inside, he'll be fine until Spring. Hope that helps :) PS but there is no reason he can't go out for a short time, I just figure it'll drop his temps & then he'll have to warm up inside again, which is probably more taxing for him if u know what I mean?

I'd say absolutely no lower than 70... and if it is around 70, only for a short time.

Same here! I can't wait till it warms up enough for walks in the yard with my favorite boy!

hopefully the snow is done now, its been pretty nice the last few days, still a little cold but definite signs of winter heading out... thank you very much for the info, will wait a couple more weeks, im not sure what the temps are at right now, havent checked with the therm, but a few days have been really sunny. have an old bird cage that i may be able to put him in, dont want him getting loose, too small and quick for me. once again thanks:D

I used a bird cage as my first outside temp area too! Whatever u use, make sure he has some shade as well (even a potted plant, he can hide under until he gets used to the big bad world of other animals), & water if leaving him out for any length of time :D

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
