I've been feeding my beardie more and more as time goes on and he gets through mealworms and crickets so quickly. hes about 6 months old now and his head is about 1.5"-2" across at the widest point. I feed him twice a day, mornings and evenings, give him greens. before he got quite aggressive because I wasn't feeding him enough so when I started giving him more food, he calmed down. now recently hes starting doing it again but hes eating his fill.

My question is, can he have superworms? because they are much bigger and would fill him up more than mealworms or crickets. It's got to the point now that if I put my hand in there with greens for him he will bite my fingers and completely ignore the greens, he also does this with mealworms or crickets now.

I've noticed a pattern that he gets aggressive when he wants more food, I want to start giving him something bigger to fill him up more. I handle him every day (unless he is shedding) and always after feeding so he is more docile.

can I start getting super worms? before anyone asks he has adequate UVB and heat etc

Superworms can safely be fed to dragons once they are 16 inches in length or bigger.

For a growing dragon with higher protein requirements than an adult, you shouldn't feed solely superworms since they amount you'd have to feed to meet good protein requirements would add too much fat to the diet. You want to still offer crickets and other healthy feeder insects along with the superworms.

Thanks for moving it Mod :) Yeah I know that I buy crickets everytime I buy the worms too, I just feel like the dragon isnt getting enough fill from mealworms, its no secret that hes extremely greedy, but I feed him more than I ever fed my old beardies and they were nothing but docile. he only seems to be happy when full.

from head to tail he is around 15"ish

id say its safe to start him on supers, i started mine when he was 12" but i just went slow giving him 1 a day and over a few weeks slowly turned that into 5 and now his 18". as long as your beardie chews his food and you have proper basking temps and all that he should be fine to eat a few supers as long as you go slow with them. also for the mealworms i wouldnt feed them at all because they arent healthy at all and have such a hard shell on them.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
