What NOT to get?

Okay, so I'm going to the Atlanta Repticon in August and I know I will be tempted to buy another animal, so what I want to know is...What animal shouldn't I get? My mother is quite near phobic in her fear of snakes so they're a no no .
So what would be inexpensive, easy to care for, and doesn't have to have anything bigger than a 20 gallon (or grows so slow it won't need something bigger for a year or 2)? And what should I not even think about getting? I know not to look at the monitors till I get some money (a lot ) and I know dart frogs have a complicated setup...

I was thinking maybe a leopard gecko or a couple of fire bellied toads?

Pacman frogs seem pretty cool if you look at some of the videos of them eating on youtube they're pretty neat.

Ha I just looked up pacman frogs, I want one now. I like that they puff up and scream when they're mad. Does anyone know how to take care of them?

I had a pacman frog. pretty easy, you just have to make sure to keep them moist. I housed mine in a 10 gallon tank. The substrate was bed-a-beast. I had a large bowl that was only about 1/2-1 inch deep so he could soak and get out easily. it was buried so it was even with the bed-a-beast. I also put in some live plants for shelter and a log. He ate fish I would put into the bowl, or crickets. They eat a lot and DO get large over time!! You just have to keep them moist! Also, he had a UTH (i think, its been a few years), and a red heat light.
