Hi,

One of my girls has had a weird orange spot for a long time... I didn't think much of it until recently, it seems bigger. It has also spread. I'm really really hoping it is not yellow fungus, to me it doesn't look anything like it( I have only seen pics). These spots on her are bright orange. Any ideas...?

Looks like freckles to me. I've seen others post about freckles, but I've only seen pictures. Some one else will be able to answer more definitively, I am sure.

Looks like freckles to me too, just make sure they aren't raised. I actually took one of my girls, Eeyore, to the vet because she had numerous little black specks like that and they laughed and informed me that she had freckles.

How come they are bright orange? And why are they popping up in more places? She is 3 years old. I have never had a dragon have freckles before, but I have seen pictures and they are usually black. It is bizarre. It definitely makes me feel a lot better though, I thought for sure it was something really bad....

Well, I guess it would be like people. Freckles are have a higher concentration of melanin than the rest of the skin does, which makes human freckles some shade of tan to dark brown, dragons have a different pigment, so a more concentrated spot of it would be a deeper whatever color the dragon is. Maybe. So you could have black or brown, but you could also have orange or red or whatever. :lol: I'd like to see a citrus with freckles. I wonder if they would be green.
