I've gone 2 different directions. And when I have the option, I prefer to bring her with me...
I have brought Vinny with me. She has a 'travel viv' which she hates because it's so much smaller then what she is used too. But she deals with it, I'm quite sure she would rather come with me then be left home alone. She spends a lot of time outside of the travel viv so she can give her legs a good stretch. She has a warm rice sock to help keep her warm during travel time, but her favorite is to sit and soak up the rays on the dashboard.
I have also left her home alone (the last 2 weekends in a row, poor girl!). Her lights are on a timer and she gets an extra huge salad soaked in water, dry pellets and crickets. I have a small tub full of about 100 crickets (for 2-3 days) with a hole in the top. That way she can only eat the crickets as they come out, and not just gobble them up in one sitting.
When I get home, she gets a nice long soak and cuddle.
I was worry about her when I leave her on her own. "Did her lights turn on? Did they turn OFF? Is she
thirsty? Did I leave enough food?" I always come home to find her contently basking under her lights. Her tank is set up so that even if her lights don't turn off, she can hide in complete darkness, and I always leave more food then she eats but still, you never know.....
