Welp, here is the babe <3

My new beardie does not yet have a name. He/she is just about 2 months old. Born on August 8th, 2016. He/she is just about 7 inches old. As soon as I put him/her in his/her cage he/she zipped away and it seemed like he/she walked all over before finding a hiding spot behind the log. He/she stayed there until about 3 minute before his/er lights came off, then slowly moved towards the basking spot, but then the lights went off. He/she didn't want to eat, but I think the breeder fed him/her already today, so I will give it another go in the morning. As soon as I put a phoenix worm in front of his/her mouth, the eyeballs were glued to it, but he/she wouldn't go for it. I hope he/she is sleeping well. I hope he/she turns out better than Clementine.

Well, I have narrowed it down to two names: Taro(from a song i like) or Pollux(one of the twin stars from my favorite constellation, Gemini) . The breeder says that he is a probable male, but at this age its really hard to tell as you all know. Which do you think? I'm leaning towards Taro because it's a little more neutral. I think I will start using male pronouns because he just looks like a little guy haha.

He is behind his log curled up asleep. So cute. I wish i could take a picture without the flash waking him up. My girlfriend just sent me a list of cool names and they all sound so nice. Like Hydra and Io. So many cool choices

I was actually thinking of that earlier hah. He is starting to show some orange around his lips and ears, so if more orange shows up, he might just become the sun god Helios.

Very cute, as all babies are. You might add a long basking branch that leans against his gig ramp, babies mostly like things to grab on to when basking. You can find branches outside, bake in oven for 45 minutes at 250.....free cage furniture !

For names how about Orion.....if he turns out to be a she, then Oriona. Once you're able to handle him enough you might try arching his tail high up + snapping a few pics to post here, I can probably tll you what you have.

Orion is neat. That's a good one. Today before class i tried to feed him some worms, he tried to bite me a little so i took the chance and popped a little worm in there and he gobbled it down haha. I left his bowl with greens and peppers well minced and a little bowl with 6 worms so we'll see when i get home if he ate them he is still skiddish and hides behind his log but that will pass in time hopefully.

I think the reason he doesn't want to eat is that he is shedding! His tail skin is starting to come off. Tomorrow i'm going to give him a nice warm bath and see if that helps the little fella calm down and loosen up his skin! Today I think he only ate 2 larvae, or they got out of the bowl lol. Also there is some greens scattered around so either he ate those, or ran through the bowl haha. Anyways, the little guy seems to be okay. He has explored every inch of his viv and seems to like to hide. He still seems a little scared, but we hope it will all pass

This little nut will NOT eat on his own. I think maybe he is being picky, but whenever we pick him up and like rub his chin he opens his mouth and we can put in a little worm and he gobbles them right up. He ate about 7 this morning. Still hasn't touched his salad. He does the cutest thing when on the ramp, since the scratching thatch-like part is so smooth and slippery, he just does one or two pulls with his front legs and slowly slides down. But once he's up there he is up there. He also loves to jump off his log and off of his ramp then climb back up. I ordered new larvae since these ones were starting to die and pupate. I gave him a little bath today to help him shed. He seems to like to poo on top of his basking platform which is a pain to clean but whatever. I think he is going to be just fine so long as he starts eating on his own soon. I'm going to try crickets if he just really does not like the larvae.

You can feed the black larvae. That just means they are beginning to pupate and have the most calcium at that time! My dragon actually loves the fully pupated, non-moving ones and also the flies if they hatch.

The only thing is that they're pretty big and he's pretty small so I don't want to overdo it.
