My parents came home, and had stopped at Petsmart to get crickets. Apparently they asked one of the employees, who we talk to often there, about superworms. After saying that Wolfgang isn't big enough for them yet, she said that she's required to warn the customers about cutting off the heads.

I know that's just a myth...But I just found it interesting that the Petsmart company would actually warn about that. She said that there were a few incidents about the worms killing the lizard. I honestly want to see the proof.

The last time I bought supers at Petsmart, I was told the same thing. It was the mom of one of my students, though, so I just smiled and thanked her for the info. Interesting...

have you seen a large one's mandibles? iv had one actually latch onto a beardies face :shock: ever since then i smush their heads really well before giving them to any of my bearded dragons

Actually, they can bite... IF one bit a bearded on an eye, that could be quite a bit of a problem.

One bit me on the finger as I tried to feed it to Bindy! DISLIKE! I think I am slightly relieved that Bindy wasn't fussed over them. He wont eat them =/ ..

I refuse to touch superworms LOL, and my lizards have learned to attack their heads first. Dudley likes to bite them, spit them out, and eat them again when they are dead. :roll:

A superworm bit my coworker last night, and she had this huge swollen bump on her finger afterwards. :shock: Yikes!

I've been somewhat tempted to give Wolfgang superworms once he's big enough...But now I'm re-thinking that. I don't want to get bit by a worm T-T And I don't have the heart to cut their heads off when they're still alive.
