I received the probiotics in the mail today, How do I use them? and how do I administer them? Should I give them through the tube directly or use a syringe and how much should I give him?

I just squeeze a little bit like half a pea or more. Too much won't hurt anyways. You could either put it on the tip of the snout or get it inside the lip. I think it tastes sweet. I would do it in the morning so that they are warm all day. It works best that way rather than overnight. I would do it for a week or two.

Ok thanks so much! I also bought Reptaid because some people had recommended it to me. Do you have any experience with it and can it be administered with the probiotic? I don't want to medicate him anymore, at least not for a while because its taking a visible toll on him. Since the Reptaid is herbal and is said to be a great way to flush out parasites, I figured I'd try it.

I don't know about the reptiaid. It sounds like it has antibiotic properties in it. You might want to wait on it. Has he been retested? If you decide to use it I would wait 6 hrs before or after the probiotic. Unless someone else says it's fine.

He's been retested, just waiting to get the results. I'll give him a few weeks until I use anything besides the probiotic. Also, how long should I use the probiotic?

Not sure, I'll call once the office opens and see whats going with it. However, I'm almost 100% sure he's still got the coccidia since his poop still had little to no form to it. Does it hurt him if I choose to not medicate him for a few weeks even if he still has the coccidia? He's already been given 3 different medications. Next medication I'm willing to try is Toltrazuril Coccidiocide since I've heard from quite a few that it works quickly within the first doses and isn't as harsh on their bodies as albon (which he's taken also). However I don't want to give him anything that will make him feel worse. I'm thinking of maybe trying medication in maybe a month or so. I want to give him a break and get his appetite back up.

My little guy had coccidia too but cleared up after a treatment.
How are you cleaning his cage? It should be 10% Ammonia solution just be sure to rinse all the smell away. Steam cleaning is also really good instead of ammonia or both if you want to be really thorough. Cleaning should be done daily until he's parasite free. Cleaning alone can get rid of them but you need to support his immune system too. I got things like Bee pollen, milk thistle powder, Dandelion powder (he doesn't like greens), serrapeptase. When you get the results and if he still has them ask what the count is. A low count shouldn't need meds.

Every time he poops. which isn't every day since he isn't eating well, i clean his cage with a 50/50 bleach and water solution and follow up with white vinegar to get all of the bleach out. Then i let his tank air out for an hour and put his stuff back. For now, since he only has paper towels and his basking rock i soak the basking rock and then switch out the paper towels after bleaching. However, yesterday i ordered a Coccicidal Concentrate to clean with and make sure its all gone. By the way, do you happen to know how he could've gotten these parasites?

Bleach won't kill coccidia. 10% Ammonia mix is recommended. Personally I'd get a handheld steamer and you could also use the cleaner you bought. You may be recycling the coccidia and that's why he would still have it since it's not being killed. Hopefully he is parasite free? Did the vet have an answer for you yet?

It is natural for them to have coccidia. Normally their immune system keeps them in check. However, coccidia doesn't really have a long life cycle. If they ingest the eggs the cycle starts over again. They can get it from the bugs they eat or pick up from outside. There are many ways it can be accidentally spread. This is why I mentioned to support the immune system so they can fight it on their own. If for whatever reason the immune system is lower by stress or whatever then the parasites get out of control. They find bleach can't penetrate the eggs.

If he keeps continually having parasites I would get him tested for ADV. The only thing you can really do if they do have it is with supporting the immune system, treating the parasites and at least you'd know the reasons why and what to expect.

So Hemingway is eating very well! However, he isn't really basking at all. His basking spot is usually 100-105 but i switched the light to a lower watt and the basking spot was about 95 and he still didn't want to bask. He'll stay in the hot side but isn't basking and still feels cool when touched. He also won't poop unless in warm water. He's still been getting the probiotics (Benebac Gel) and small amounts of Reptaid each day (which has brought his appetite up significantly).

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
