I have the same enclosure and I made a dragon walk so mine could get up to the UV. Search dragon walk on the DIY board to see what it looks like. Ill also post a pic when I get home so u can see how mine is sitting.
One thing you can check is if your fixture has a reflector on it. It basically doubles the power of the bulb. If it doesn't, you can put a piece of aluminum foil extending the length of the bulb behind the bulb, and it might help to offset the amount of UVB being filtered by the screen.
sorry your stuff got deleted, I wish I had been at home so I could've save the link about the amount of UV that goes through the mesh and stuff I'm going to attempt to post pics of my dragon walk in my enclosure, if it doesn't work i'm sorry.
Sorry I just noticed I dont have any pics of how high up it goes, but it actually touches the screen at the top that way she can be within about 4 inches of the light source (not that she ever goes up that high). she usually stays 4 inches from the top. good luck!
thanks for re-posting the link! I plan on building an enclosure so she can get unfiltered UV but I thought the info looked like a good read when I have access to a full sized screen instead of a tiny phone screen
Sinc you other post got trolled I will repost here.
What UV source are you using again?
The dragon should be able to get 6-8 inches from the UV spot and bask at the same time. The UV source will work much better if it is not obstructed by the screen mesh.
That is a nice setup you have. The main thing that I can see is that the UVB tube bulb is a little far from him. What is the distance of the light to his basking spot? Can you try to mount the UVB light on the underneath side of the screen top possibly?
We may need to move your thread to the Enclosures area though!
What are the dimensions on that is it 24" tall 18" wide. Besides lowering the uvb source do yoou have trouble getting a proper hot/cool side beccause the tank is not very long?
