Hi again everyone,
Today I took our girl off to the vets as I wasn't comfortable that she'd improve without some help. After a check over, the vet has said her calcium hadn't adequately improved and her back legs are weakened from it, she's been rejecting her food to the point where she's malnourished and she's most likely got some nasty parasites just from glancing at her poop.
I already felt everything we've been doing for her was hopeless and then we were told she has Follicular Stasis and will most likely need spaying to prevent the issues in the future.
Although nothing is particularly urgent, other than her malnutrition for which we were given a supplement (Emeraid Herbivore, 5ml 2x daily), I still feel so upset and stressed for our girl. The vet confirmed all problems were most likely relating to her treatment by the previous owner (in the moment, I almost messaged him with a piece of my mind!) and will need a lot of work and some lengthy and EXPENSIVE treatment (only the one in our area, checkup alone was £55).
The vet seemed hopeful she'll be fine and we got there at a good time to spread out treatment in a way not to bombard her. I'm not gonna lie, hearing how poorly she is made me tear up, but I'm determined to get her fighting fit. She's the first pet me and my boyfriend got together and we adore her already.
I'd like to know more about Follicular Stasis but can't find much relevant information online. Things like treatment and signs of the condition worsening. Any information on any of the problems she has would be great to be honest, I'd really appreciate some help. I know she could be in a worse condition, but its still upsetting for me
Thank you in advance,
Beth
