Stupid question time again.
Our local Walmart sells waxworms (for fishing). It's the only place around here that has them. (Petsmart carries crickets, superworms, and mealworms, nothing more exotic than that.) Since I know they can't be used as a staple, it seems kind of silly to me to pay $10+ for shipping for something that I can buy locally, especially if there's a chance Wave won't like them (she didn't like silkworms) - if, that is, the ones I buy locally are safe. I know they won't be gutloaded, but if it's just as a treat, I'm not too worried about that - but does anyone know if they're likely to be safe for Wave? I'd love to let her try some.
If I'm going to pay for shipping, it makes more sense to me to buy something in bulk, but I don't want to do "bulk" for a treat, at least until I know if Wave likes them. Anyone know - or suspect - the likelihood that it would be safe to let her have a few Walmart waxworms?
Thanks!
