Wax worms for babies

Can I feed my 8 month beardie wax worms he's kinda skinny wanna fatten him up a little maybe a few everyday not as a staple though

You definitely can. At 8 months you can also begin offering superworms as treats too. Both make good occasional treats especially for dragons needing to pack on a few extra grams.

Wax worms work good to pack some weight on. Young dragons can have more than adults. You don't want an obese adult dragon

Hi there, how big is he ? At 8 months he could be almost adult sized, but if he is stunted or a slow grower he could be under 12". The title of the post seemed like you were talking about a little baby so it would be good to mention his size. Waxies are O.K as a treat for small beardies, but superworms aren't unless they are the small superworms. And dragons can get spoiled on them and refuse other foods [ sometimes ] What have you been feeding him, and how much ? What exact type + brand of lights do you use and what are his temps. ? Can you post a few pics of him ? Here's how :

he's 10 inches.

I feed him crickets I dust them twice a week and he isn't a big eater. Maybe 10 crickets a day. He's always been like that since the day I've got him.

He got An exo terra uvb200 120v 26watt.
I asked the pet shop lady and she gave me that one asked how many gallons and what's it for he got a 50 gallon by the way. It costed 60$ im not sure if it's 5.0 or 10.0 but it said on the box for desert reptiles.

His temperature is 80 Fahrenheit i got a heat mat and basking bulb but it never goes higher

80°F is okay for the cool side of the tank, but it is way too cold for the entire tank.
The hot side of the tank should be 95-110°F. Fix the temps and you should see a big improvement. They can not digest or process food properly if not warm. They won't be as active or hungry...and could show signs of failing to thrive. Not healthy for them.

Alright would you know any things I can do to make it hotter in his tank? I can buy another heat pad or maybe a new lamp with a basking bulb? I feel bad he doesn't have the right temp poor little guy

Any way you could post a picture of what you have set up now? We can fix the temps...just gotta see what your using now.
Could be as simple as increasing the wattage of the heating bulb. Could always use a solid aquarium lid instead of a ventilated one.
