Walter is new to us and I have some questions!

Hello!

We picked up Walter on Wednesday and he seemed fine and he ate like a pig on Wednesday night, all day Thursday and Friday morning! He allowed me to pick him up as much as I wanted in that time frame and went in his pool etc. I came home from work on Friday and tried to feed him and he refused and has refused since! He also squirms when I try to hold him and he has also puffed up his beard like he is angry, yet other times I can hold him for a few minutes and even had him in a burrito and he seemed to like it!

Do you think it could be delayed relocation stress? Also, he has only ever had crickets and salad where I got him from and everyone was sold out so I had to get him superworms, do you think maybe he is still just full (he ate around 20 in one sitting) or maybe they made his tummy off?

Any feedback would be appreciated!

I think your right! Relocation stress can take a few days. My Mickey was bought on Monday...ate great Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Friday and Saturday...refused to eat ( crickets). I was told this could be normal, and from the relocation even though it had been a few days.

Thanks! The thing that is bothering me the most is the fact that he is squirming so much when I try to hold him and he sometimes puffs his beard at me! I went to the place I got him many times before I actually brought him home and I held him lots and never a problem! Now all of a sudden he seeems mad at me...lol! I dont want my Walter to be mad at me...lol!

As far as eating goes,yes it could be relocation stress. How big is your beardie? Try putting an old rag or t-shirt with your scent on it in the viv with him when you're not there. He can have your scent with him and it may help.Another suggestion is waiting until lights out when your dragon is sleepy and wrap him in a burrito and let him snuggle with you. My 2 love the suggle time and expect it nightly.

Thanks Sara! He does like his Burrito once I get him into it, he snuggles right in, especially after his bath! He is getting better with me and even swims to my hand when he is in his bath if he is ready to get out and tries to climb my arm...lol! He has started eating like a pig again! I was told he is 7 months old and I have not figured out how to measure him without him scooting away on me yet.
