I finally got my husband to build the new viv for our babies. They are very happy in their new homes. The dimensions for the entire unit are 6' tall 4' wide and 2' deep. The individual vivs are 3x4x2. We are currently working on the decoration for the top viv so it is a little bare at the moment. We are making a castle of styrofoam and grout.
And here are some pics of the happy occupants.
These pics are of Spike. He is mommys baby and is about 10 weeks old.
This pic is of Zeus. He is one of our rescues. Along with Hera who you will meet in the next pic. He is approximately 5 weeks old. His tail was recently broken (if you look closely you can see it in the pic). I have not dealt with this before with my other dragons and am unsure about how to procede. I am currently looking for a reptile vet in our area. I have contacted all our local vets and have had no luck and no leads on where to go from here. We live in a VERY remote area of nothern PA and it appears there are no reptile vets for hundreds of miles. ARGH
. He has been with us for two weeks and the tail does not appear to be dead or dying. It also does not appear to bother him. However, I am afraid to touch the tip for fear of hurting him. If anyone has some suggestions please feel free to message me. I am hoping he will be fine.
And finally is Hera. Our other rescue. She is also approximately 5 weeks old. She also has a tail nip. But the end is gone and appears to be healed quite nicely. She is sporting some really bad stress marks but we are hoping that they will clear up now that she is in her forever home. These two poor babies have been moving around a lot in their short life. They were with the breeder who is unknown, their previous owner who knew nothing about caring for a dragon (improper cage, lighting, heat, food, substrate,no
hydration, you name it) Thankfully for these guys she was unable to keep them and we adopted them. They had one very long trip by car (6 hours) to our home and then finally one last move to their new vivs. We have had them two weeks and they are growing very quickly. They also have missing toes which I assume is from being housed at the breeders as these have been healed for some time. The previous owner had no knowledge of what happened. She said they were like that when she got them.
