Viv pics only thread

A little better but you need to get rid of that sand completely. Replace it with something simply like vinyl tile or paper towel.

I'd also recommend a true ReptiSun 10.0 UVB light rather than that coiled one you have.

Is that one of those electric waterfalls in the corner? If so, then it's the same thing as the pool of water. It raises humidity and makes it more likely for your beardie to get a respiratory infection.

just finished my babies awesome room:)

I picked up this 225 gall terrarium on Sunday so divided it up for my 2 beardies.

I have 2 heat lights, under the tank heater in the the middle and a 2 foot 10.0 UVB tube on the top behind the heat lights. I need to get a lot more tiles and some more plants for them both. They moved from a 50 gal and a 30 gal. We just hit a deep freeze here so temps are around -40f right now so a trip to the hardware store will have to wait! I built the stand so I can fit 4-10 gallon tanks under it, so my mouse breeding tanks and maybe the crickets and worms bins too.

Great looking viv, you did alot of work, wish the pics were bigger so I could see the detail better, but you did a great job!
One thing you may be aware of, is the mirror, if you see your baby black bearding or with stress marks, she may think it's another beardie and she's defending her space. This happens when beardies see their reflection in the glass walls, just to let you know.

Welcome to BD.org........it's a great site!!

Keep up the good work!

I posted about a month ago with the setup our family got used. We have since got our viv back together and just a few more things to get before we get our first beardie. It is pretty cool seeing everyone's viv's and getting ideas.

 I was inspired by the posts on here to finally get tile and spruce up her tank. I still want to add fake plants, but as Aaliyah just tried to eat her driftwood and repeatedly tries to eat various objects (like the colorful windows symbol on my laptop), I probably will leave the tank as is.
Sadly, her repti hammock fell down after this picture, and refused to stay up. Aaliyah LOVES it, so I'm going to have to find my way to the store and get some command hooks to fix it. Aaliyah is in shed right now.

We recently built our Ruby her Viv. Since she has a foot nip on her rear left leg, we modified a few ledges, climbs. The only thing left to do is figure a ramp to the UV Shelf, as she doesn't seem to like using the branch/hammock all the time.

Any ideas about a ramp up to the UV?

CoppersMomma,

Nice looking viv, I like the hammock, did you make that? I'm not sure which side you need help on to get to the lights? I have 2 beardies that are handicapped, Gabby is missing her back foot, and Bella only has 1 foot with all different length leg stubs, so I've made their vivs handicapable. (feel free to check out my thread below)

My Gabby sounds like your beardie, missing the back foot, and she gets around just fine and is able to climb, just make sure you always have some gradual contact leading up to the basking areas, with Bella however, I have smooth surfaces with gradual inclines, she does very well. You can use covered (I use a material that their nails don't get caught in, but that they're able to grab on) small boxes, I put heavy stones in them so they don't move when they jump on and off of them. I also use stuffed animals, or baby blankets that bunch up well, and then of course, there's always drift wood, stratigically placed,................. I hope this hasn't completely confused you.

BTW, Welcome to the site.

Thanks for the feedback!, Yes we made the hammock, well actually my boyfriend made the hammock. We reused the screening from our cricket delivery and some driftwood we found at one of the local beaches. Your babies are beautiful. We have one other handi-capable bearded, Onyx, who is also missing part of a foot, like your Gabby. Onyx seems to have a love for inclines, as you will find him/her (we're leaning towards her) sleeping vertically or on her bridge. Thanks again!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
