Well Im glad you care so much and are doing everything you can for him.

Baytril will upset their tummies so don't panic if you still don't see him eating during the duration of the treatmeant.

The carnivore care is great stuff and if you mix that with your baytril then at least you know hes getting some sort of nutrition and food in him to help support his immune system.

And also like mentioned above by others I think the UVB will help a lot too.

Also I agree on the digital thermometer mentioned as well, the stick on ones are useless, correct temps are crucial to these little guys, and a digital probe thermometer or temp gun is going to give you the best reading.

I hate petsmart but i will suggest them for certain supplies.

thats an example of one, they're are a few different brands that sell them, but basically anything with the probe end that you can stick directly under their basking spot where they sit is what you want. There are lots on amazon and other online sources as well.

Went to that reptile store. He gave me a very small hornworm and a super worm (?? I think, it was white). He actually ate the white one. Then pooped. So I collected it and ran it to the vet for testing. Total today: $270 vet, $160 new lighting and bulb...eeek! Oh well. Hoping it's not a parasite...hoping this clears. I'll be so mad if it was the damn crickets but I'll never be able to prove it.

might have been a silk worm or a wax worm as superworms are more brown. Either way thats good he ate, and that you were able to get a fecal sample done to rule out if it's parasites, becasue if he doesnt need to be on baytril thats good news, as its very hard on them.

I feel your frustration, our male got pinworms from petsmart crickets. Now we order in our bugs from a local feeder farm and have had no parasite problems since.

And yeah these little guys can get pretty pricey sometimes, but it's all worth it when you see them happy, healthy, and thriving

I will definitely source out crickets from now on...terrible if this caused all this not to mention the money but mostly him not feeling well. So pissed off!

(And I think it was a silkworm)...still hasn't touched the hornworm though

Also, Silkworms are great feeders, so if you were going to get anything into him that is one of the best things

I wouldnt say one would fill a baby, considering how much they eat when theyre juveniles.

depending on the size of the worm, if they were smaller they could probably eat about 10 or so, maybe more, it really depends on the size of the worm, ive seen silkworms anywhere from a centimeter all the way up to 3 inches or more ( i would not recomend that large at this age). I wouldn't worry to much about that right now though, since he did eat one and has something in his little belly.

Either way at this point it has eaten and that is a good sign. I would say they could probably eat about 5-10 give or take, they are fussy little guys and we have had loads of trouble finding what they like on any given day. They can go on eating one thing for some time and love it then one day just decide they hate it.

I would find out exactly what it was that he ate and post it here, but you can probably pick up some more if that's what he's into right now.
