Hi guys,
So my current beardie is the first reptile I've ever owned. I got him over two years ago from a local reptile store and at the time I had bought all my terrarium gear (light bulbs, fixtures, tank, etc.) from the exact same place based on what they had recommended
The UVB lamp I got was an exo terra 10.0uvb t8, 24". Last year I replaced the lamp in October using the same brand (I got it off amazon).
Now heres the problem: I cant find the replacement bulb this year. It is out of stock on amazon and the reptile store I bought it from hasnt had it in stock. I initially tried to order a replacement and couldn't find it in August. In October I tried to order it again and no luck. I called the store to put in an order for me back in early October and never called me back. I called since then and they only told me that they didn't know when it would be back in stock.
Its worth noting at this point that I don't currently live with my reptile, I moved away to university in the fall and the place I'm renting would not let me take him so he's in a different city than me. My parents are taking until I can find somewhere else to live. Because of this I cannot at present check the exact specs of my fixture, in fact I can't even remember what brand the fixture is.
I have gone to several different stores in my hometown, the city I'm currently living in, and my grandparents city. I've checked local places and big places like petsmart and I can't find the bulb.
Do any of you know if a different brand might fit the fixture? If I need to replace the whole fixture and bulb what would you guys recommend? The petsmarts sometimes carry t5's, I'm not entirely sure how those differ from a t8. Any advice is appreciated.
