So I struggle. I just bought the Reptisun 10.0 t8 bulb and the fixture that was recommended on this site. I have no idea how to put it together and feel like I'm missing something. Help would be appreciated!!
Hi, that's good that you purchased the Repti-Sun 10.0 T8 and fixture. What is it that you need help with, putting the bulb in the fixture, distance recommendations to the basking spot, etc?
Hey there, thanks for the reply. I eventually figured it out, had my husband wire it up lol. I've got it about 6-8" away from her basking spot, though it is not directly above her (I mounted it on the inside of the side of the tank, and her favorite basking spot is on a branch). I am feeling frustrated, though. Out of concern after reading on this site's care sheets that I should have the reptisun t8 and that the brand I was using for her (Zilla) was bad, I hurried and bought the bulb and a simple fixture. Now I am reading that the t8's UVB isn't sufficient, especially without a reflector, and that the T5 is what I need!
T5 has more output in light and uvb, but t8 is fine. I use t8. I have an inexpensive 4ft shop light from Lowe's that uses two bulbs. One is reptisun 10.0 and the other is a 6500k daylight (bright white light). Beardies like it bright and hot.
