Ursus the mighty dragon!

Hi, I just thought I would start my thread for my beardie. I haven't gotten him yet, but will probably tomorrow or sometime soon. Anyway, today for Christmas I got a Zilla bearded dragon kit, so I will set it up in place of the 10 gallon tank. I know it won't lat him his whole life, but ot will last longer than the 10. I will probably get a flourescent UV light instead of the coil that comes with the kit, unless the zilla ones are okay. Also I probably won't use the alphpha pellets until he's 12 inches, if I use them at all. It's a decent setup, and I'll post photos of the cage and my little dragon when I get him!

Make sure his crickets are no larger than the space between his eyes. He sure is a cutie Lookie at that fat belly lol

Christy- Yes, the crickets are no larger than the space between his eyes. They aren't exactly half an inch, just about but smaller, so he doesn't have an extra large head. I'm glad you think he's cute and thanks for the compliments!

Measured Ursus today, and he's grown a quarter of an inch since I got him! He's going to be big pretty soon!

I don't know, it might be originally, but I got the name from a 1970 movie (I'm a fan of old movies, I think they're fun to watch). But I agree, it sounds like it should be!

A quicl update.

Ursus gave me a bit of a scare today. I was holding him, but he managed to wiggle outof my hand and jumped onto the couch pillow, and jump down from their and ran underneath the computer desk. I was just thinking "STUPID STUPID STUPID! about myself, but luckily he was right toward the edge of the desk, so I could get him.

I gave him a bath today, and right after I put him back, he started moving his arm weird, not like a wave, but something close. I figured out why. I just came downstairs 10 minutes ago and saw him rubbing his head against the paper towels. I was thinking "What the?" and looked closer to find out he's shedding! I'll try and post pictures tomorrow, because I have to go back to school tomorrow.

Oh, is this your first shed?! It's so exciting. The best thing ever is feeling that clean fresh skin right after they shed. Plus, they do some funny things when they're shedding, James scratches behind his ears like dogs do, with his back foot, and squirms against my jeans. Can't wait to get it on camera XD

Thanks! And your welcome for the tribute, Gizmo was my favorite bearded dragon on the site besides Ursus, so when I heard he died I wanted to pay him a tribute . Glad you liked it!
