Heard the strangest thing the other night on my FB group. Apparently people are using bird seed as substrate in their bearded dragon cages now. Apparently this idea came from Uromastyx keepers and has been transferred to beardie tanks now.
Apparently Millet is the *best* to use, but I've seen all types of seeds being used.
I'm not even sure if this is safe for them to use. I know that Uro's or at least some species eat seeds, but I'm not sure about Beardies.
I'm not sure how I feel about this, as I am not a fan of particulate substrate for my lizards. I know I won't be using this, but would like some in put if this is totally unacceptable or if this is on the "ok" list of substrates. I don't want people to be promoting this if it's frowned upon or unsafe.
