Under tank heater and plastic

So I came back to my parents house for Christmas break and they keep their heat turned down really low. I'm worried about night time temps so I bought a reptitherm UTH (to be side mounted) without looking very closely at it. The instructions say to use it only on glass but I'm using a large rubbermaid tote as Zuma's travel enclosure. Has anyone used a UTH with plastic before and will the UTH melt the plastic?

this might be late, but as long as you use a dimmer, i use this setupt for my snake rack
