My 5 month old was not raised on crickets so when we got him a month ago, I switched him to crickets with just a few very small superworms mixed in (that's what he was used to). He's okay with crickets but not thrilled about hunting them down and I don't feel he was getting enough. So based on everything I've read on here, I was finally able to have Phoenix worms (medium) shipped to me..was so excited as I feel like it would several things at once. I gave him about 6 last night (he had already had his "big dinner" of crickets but he still ate them right up. SUCCESS! I thought....so this morning going to give him his breakfast - he is always so excited to eat in the morning and waits for me to come..sometimes he even does a little dance hopping around waiting. I filled his bowl with worms and over the next half hour he didn't touch them...was inches away but obviously not interested. As of 3 pm, my daughter, who is home, said he has not eaten them so he's got to be hungry.
My question is...is it okay for me to keep trying them and he'll eat them when he is hungry enough - I'm thinking it's like a toddler who just doesn't like change..maybe I need to stick to my guns and give it another couple days. I really really can't sustain the cricket thing. Any thoughts?
Thanks!
