this is the best animal story that i have ever heard. thanks for sharing the story it must be very hard for you to write this. when i heard about the rainbow bridge i kinda thought to myself when i pass ill be with fowlcore and probably with some other bearded dragons since when fowlcore passes ill get another one. this is one of saddest but happiest stories ive ever heard. im sure hes watching after you and cant wait to meet you. :mrgreen:

I know what you mean so well, I lost a few of my furry friends over the years and when I went and got their ashes, I cried and cried again. I had one cat for almost 23 years. It took me a while to actually get brave enough to go get her ashes. But you are right, you need to have them back with you. My vet also shares the rainbow bridge story and everytime I read it I cry. When someone asked me if there were pets in heaven, I said of course otherwise it would not be heaven! We will meet our family and friends both furry and scaly there. The box is beautiful and I love the bear watching over him. Wishing you peace in your heart and sending hugs and prayers.

I can't even think straight enough to get a sentence out. I'm so sorry you lost Leo. Crying, reading, hurting for you. I know it's been a few weeks now, but... There are no words. He was so lucky to have you fighting for him. I came on tonight hoping to find more info for my beardie and I came across your thread and never left until I read it all. I loved the video of him playing in the puddle. So sweet. I loved your reflection of him playing in the yard and chomping the clover! I could see him there, romping! Your words are beautiful, the way you talk about him. I could feel your love for him as I read your stories!! When your heart broke, so did mine. So hard to say goodbye. I'm sorry it came to that for you and Leo. I hope the many, happy memories you have of him will lift your heavy heart a little more each day that passes and soon, I hope you will smile everytime you think of him, until you meet again... You posted on St. Patrick's Day that Leo passed away and he loved clover so much, here is an Irish Blessing for you and Leo:

So I brought in the mail the other day, and noticed that I had something from the UC Davis Veterinary Department. I opened it up, read the first line, and absolutely broke down in sobs as the letter fell from my hands.

Apparently, my Vets have made a donation to the UC Davis Companion Animal Department, in Leo's name. I'll admit that reading the letter brought back a lot of the pain and anguish over Leo's loss, but I was also so absolutely moved and honored by the gesture. It was just so kind of them. When I brought my Helen in for a check-up a few days later, I made sure to thank them, not only for the donation, but for everything that they did for Leo.

So I just wanted to share a little something that I found.

After Leo's passing, I wanted to buy something, in jewelry form, to remember him by and commemorate the time that I shared with him. After days of searching on etsy.com, I found this WONDERFUL silver charm necklace, and knew that I had to have it. I ordered one with the tiny holiday bonus that I had received from my company (that I had been saving toward supplies for larger, custom enclosures for everyone), and anxiously awaited its arrival.

VERY little of the jewelry pieces that I own are small or conservative, or even what you would call dainty, and they all tend to set off the metal detectors when going through security (remember I'm a flight attendant), so I was happy to find that I could wear this even at work without having to bother to take it off at every TSA checkpoint. That, and it just puts a little smile on my face whenever I put it on.
