Hi guys,
I jus have a question about the beardie transition from a teenager to an adult.
My beardie just turned 1 year old and I noticed that his behaviour recently is quite different from before when he was a teenager dragon. He tends to bask less and likes to stay in the cool side of his tank. Also he starts to like big sized crickets rather than smaller sized ones. I gave him small sized crickets and he doesn't seem to care much and doesn't put much effort to chase the small crickets. But when I gave him larger sized crickets, he chased them like crazy all over his tank.
Another difference I noticed recently about him is that he learned to use his hide. Sometimes at night, even when the lighting is till on in his tank, he will go beneath his hide and go to sleep.(I set the light to be turned off everyday at 9:30pm). When he was a teenager, he wouldn't go to sleep until the light is off.
For the food, he somehow doesn't like his usually green choi. He will only bites a little and then leave the greens there. But he has quite a good appetite for large crickets. That is kind of wired since I read that when they turn old, they will feed on mostly greens...
I am just wondering if anyone can share your beardie's different behaviour with before when he/she turns from a teenager to an adult.
PS: Sorry that I forgot the question. Does my beardie looks normal? He looks active and healthy but he basks less. The strange thing is that now the weather is getting colder and colder but he basks less than he did in the summer when the temperature in the room is high(25-28 degree celsius in my room).
Thanks!
