Toys in viv???

Not sure if the topic belongs here, but I have noticed alot of you place stuffed animals ect in the viv's with your beardies. They all just look so comfy laying and or sleeping on them.

Which ones are safe to put in with your beardies?
Do they really seem to enjoy the soft texture?

Any type toy or stuffed animal is fine. Just make sure there isn't anything loose on the toy/stuffed animal that your beardie may lick/bite off and swallow. Also make sure that they are stable so that your beardie cannot topple it and get stuck or wedged under it. Lastly make sure it is not too close or too high near basking bulb for your little guy to climb up and possibly get burned.

They do seem to love snuggling in or on something. I think it gives them a sense of security.

I use stuffed animals made for children. I have gotten them in the baby section. My youngest dragon loves to climb on them and even bask on them. My older two dragons don't like animals in their homes but they love their pillows and mattresses to sleep on.

Some people tend to say that blankets etc are nonsense and its just owners wanting their pets to be more human.
For me the proof is in the metaphorical pudding.
If Miso's lights go off and she lays on her floor or branch she will be dark and covered in stress marks. If I put her into or ontop of her blanket she will be asleep in 5 minutes and will practically be ooozing lemon.
She will also not sleep on my chest or shoulder unless I lay the blanket ontop of her.

I think they very much enjoy the change of textures. Its stimulating, just like for a newborn baby. Ive tried to get as many as I can into my youngsters viv. She has slate, rice socks, branches a mesh hammock and of course... the pink blankie.
Ruben, my big old grumpus always makes a bee-line for the washing basket when he's out and about. He loves nestling in.

A teddy is just something new and exciting to climb. I say go for it!

When my Alf was shipped to me she had a blankie in her shipping box,she still has it plus a new blankie with ducks on it and will probably get a new blankie for her birthday in a couple of weeks. I may also get her a new stuffed toy,she climbs on her doggie to bask or snuggles under the edge of it for a nap.

This helped me keep the washrag in my little guy's viv. You guys rock. I wasn't sure before but I just knew he loved it and wanted him to have it. Next is a small stuffed animal.

all 5 of my dragons have something to snuggle with in their vivs... Sweetie-Boo has a seal that she lays on the back to sleep. My two new babies have each have a soft baby... pink teddy bear for Calliope and blue puppy for Hades. I have pictures of both of them sleeping on top of the heads :roll: Nero has a blue fleecie (He used to have a stuffed mouse but I think HE thinks he's too macho for a stuffed animal) and Dude has his bright yellow Woodstock that he had just started warming up to 8)
