Too close to uvb?

I just mounted the Reptisun light INside the tank. The hood of the light fixture is deep and wide. Annoying. With her basking rock she is about 6-7 inches from the uvb. But girlfriend prefers t have a blanky on her basking rock and when I do that (its thin) it still elevates her to about 4-5 inches from the bulb. Is that too close. It's annoying as heck how deep the fixture is because it makes it hard to place it under the stinking screen top. It's a 40 gall breeder tank if that helps.

I just don't want to hurt her if it's too close. <3

Linear. I've religiously done everything 'correct' that I've read on here. hehe
