Hello,
I just went and checked on my youngest beardie Bronto, and saw regurgitated/thrown up balls of cricket parts littered about part of the enclosure. Obviously that isn't good, but what's confusing me is he hasn't eaten crickets since yesterday, and this morning he had a well formed bowel movement on his blankie before I could take it out of the tank. Why, if he hasn't eaten any crickets since yesterday and he had a bowel movement, did he throw up some of them?
He has basking temps that range from 105-108 degrees depending on where he is sitting on his climbing rock formation, and he had 3 hours after he ate last night before lights went off, so he should've been able to digest. Plus his lights have been on since about 7 this morning. He isn't fed anything bigger than the space between his eyes. I had him out earlier today, and he seemed fine.
Right now, I have him sitting in a lukewarm bath to help replace any fluids he may have lost, and he is very bright eyed and alert. Does anyone know what may have caused him to throw up?
Also, how should I go about feeding him now? I'm worried he may have some trouble digesting since he probably lost some stomach acids and gut flora. Should I feed him some greens or crickets later on tonight, or should I go ahead and let him eat some babyfood instead? I just want to make sure whatever I give him will be easy on his little belly, and will be easy to digest.
Thanks in advance!
