Thoughts on using MVB with reptisun T5

Hi all,

I have been using just a mercury vapor bulb (150 watt) for my 4 month old beardie and he seems to have been doing well with it. However, I decided to also purchase a T5 10 reptisun because I know it is much more reliable. My question is, what are people's thoughts on using both the MVB and the reptisun T5 together in one enclosure. The reason I ask is that he seems to enjoy basking directly under the MVB as opposed to the ceramic heat emitter (flukers 100W). I am not sure if having both lights would generate too much UVB and I would love some feedback.

Options are good if you have enough space. In most standard sized enclosures, I'd stick with the T5 and a good bright basking bulb and use the MVB in a portable fixture outside the tank to allow a bask/warmup spot while out and about. I use two of them this way. I prefer the T5 in the main tank because they produce a more even, wide beam than most MVBs. This allows for even basking even for adults.
